This started as a joke when my friend came over on Halloween dressed as a punk Pokemon trainer pirate. I said I was going plagiarize her and so I did XD

HAHAHAHA!!! BEAN, NOW YOU ARE COPYRIGHTED TO ME >:D And I get to keep you locked up in my closet where you will make me all the veggie mummy hot dogs in the world!!!

Look at this panel for a second. Out of all Gintama scenes, this one is the one who gets me the most. I can look at it for hours straight, but I still won’t believe this is Gintoki.
We’ve already seem our favorite dork getting serious. We saw him during the war once or twice, and even got a glimpse of his devilish side when he fought Jirocho, but we never saw him in the apex of his Shiroyasha days.
This is the first time we get this. And this is the image that greet us.
The very first time we see him facing an enemy directly related to the main reason he joined the war, and this is what we get: rough lines, hard stance, shaded face, facial expression that transmits determination mixed with hate, face shape that looks older than his present self. Basically, a Gintoki that looks nothing like Gintoki.
I don’t know about you, but even getting to see his dark side more than once, the sight of his face over here is still the most atrocious. Because looking at him we see how far we was willing to go to get his mentor, the most important man in his life, back. We saw fierce hate in his face, hate towards the ones that committed unforgivable acts. And above everything: we saw a young face scarred by the horror of war and loss like we never saw before.

There was a demon who chose to oppose the heavens. You still have that same look in your eyes, Shiroyasha.

Why is the demon who battled the heavens and fell to the  ground still wandering around here? Why is the demon who lost everything to the heavens still howilng at them? You, all of you, should have learned your lesson. You can shout, you can scream, but your voices will never reach the heavens. And neither will your sobs.

Will you make the same mistake again, Shiroyasha? You can sit there and watch until you bleed to death, as everything you tried to protect is destroyed again. Shouyou is also watching as the student he sacrificed his life to protect falls apart without protecting a thing.

If you would close your eyes, you would not suffer any more loss. Yet you return to the battlefield again, Shiroyasha.

he is...merely an orphan of the Kansei Purge
